PERU: Pensioners’ protests begin

The representation of the National Centre of Retired and Pensioners of Peru (CENAJUPE) appreciated the united action of struggle and criticised the message of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo in his message for the national holidays where he ignored the pensioners of the public pension system, despite having had favourable public statements. “We want actions and not words”, said the leader and informed that the General Secretary Quim Boix, of the International Union of Pensioners and Retired Persons (UIS P&R) of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) has sent a letter to the President of the Republic demanding the petitions of the Peruvian pensioners, and also made known the call of the General Confederation of Workers of Peru (CGTP) to a national meeting of pensioners for the 18th of August.
