The Panamanian government presented a bill Wednesday in the National Assembly to raise the retirement age by three years in an attempt to clean up the public pension system, which is in danger of bankruptcy.

In Bangladesh, pensioners and retirees fight for their rights

The Bangladesh chapter of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) recently organized a rally in observance of International Action Day, presided over by Comrade Razekuzzaman Ratan. The event saw participation from several trade union leaders affiliated with the WFTU.

Key demands raised at the rally included:

Labour Law Reform: Ensuring workers can form trade unions without obstacles.

Introduction of a National Minimum Wage: Guaranteeing that all workers, including those in the informal sector, receive wages that are above the poverty line.
