A new year has begun and contrary to what some may suppose, the Government’s misdeeds to the detriment of retirees are the same as those it has been doing since its inauguration, but corrected and increased. Surely the relaxation, a product of the colored mirrors offered to certain social sectors thanks to an artificially cheap dollar, makes one presume a prosperous course in the economic field. On the other hand, there are layoffs in the national state sphere, which includes strategic areas, and in the private sector as a consequence of the impossibility of competing with imported products, many of them subject to dumping. We have already lived this experience, and not by chance, during the two contemporary governments that President Milei admires: the genocidal dictatorship and the Menemism. We already know the consequences of those policies that included a devastating and painful war and that continue to mark the Argentine present. Regarding retirees, the far-right government intends to divide them between the worthy and the unworthy. That is, between those who were able to meet all the requirements to retire and those who, as victims of the maneuvers of employers, including the State, and of adjustment policies, had to accept moratoriums in order to obtain the pension benefit. These rulers, in addition to the “dialogue-oriented” opposition of the PRO, UCR, CC and other well-known monstrosities, do not hesitate to hit the working class for the benefit and enjoyment of their powerful principals: the national and transnational economic power. A new year has begun, full of political and economic storms in which the real power represented by the Milei government will try to deepen the dispossession and pain of the working class.

We say that retirees will continue to be on the front line in the fight against these reactionary and repressive policies, while we urge active and retired workers to fight in unity to successfully confront these mercenaries.
