On Tuesday, January 28, the class unions of Athens gave a first militant response to the Government’s announcements against Social Security.
 
The Unions organized 2 actions in front of the Ministry of Labor of Greece, denouncing the plans of the Government to further cut pensions and increase the retirement age limits, but also to open the path for the complete privatization of workers’ security.
 

A few days ago, on June 14, a “women's strike” took place in Switzerland. This mobilization was directly related to the ITUC (the International Trade Union Confederation- a “tool” of the USA and the multinationals) event that followed on 17 June at the ILO titled “ILO in 21st Century”!
The main demands of the women's strike were: "Investments in the care Sector, recognizing the unpaid work of women at home and in society, zero tolerance of racial violence ...”

A protest against the social policies of the current government was held in Barcelona on Saturday 9-March-2019. According to TASS, citing the local press, about 30 thousand people took to the streets, most of whom are pensioners. However, there were also a lot of young people. People demanded decent pensions. Protesters marched through the city, then stopped on the streets of Mallorca, where they read out a manifesto, which set forth their requirements.

22nd Congress of Pensioners Federation of Greece
On Thursday, October 18, 2018 started the 22nd National Congress of the Pensioners’ Federation of Greece-IKA.
The Congress started with the Introduction of the President of the Federation, Dimos Koubouris, and Member of the Executive Secretariat of PAME, which noted the rise in membership of the Federation.
